Sheet format

For this solid-sheet family, 0.8–20 mm is a typical quote range. Common flat-sheet widths include 1,220, 2,050 and 2,100 mm; the offered frosted grade, usable width and cut size are confirmed for your run.

Surface choice

Choose a fine matte/frosted face for an even look, or a visible embossed texture when you want a patterned surface. Specify which face is viewed and cleaned.

Approval

Use a sample at the ordered thickness and colour. Compare silhouettes at your actual viewing distance under day and night lighting.

The photo shows the useful difference between privacy and blackout: the sheet can obscure detail without becoming a solid wall. If a passerby stands close to a brightly lit room, their outline may still show. If that matters, specify the viewing distance and light on both sides before selecting the finish.

What can be measured, and what still needs a sample

For the embossed/textured PC series supplied in this product family, representative optical references are 82–88% light transmission (ISO 13468-1) and at least 95% haze (ASTM D1003). These figures describe that textured series; they are not blanket results for every fine-matte frosted sheet, colour, thickness or coating. Ask sales for the original report matching the proposed grade when either number is a purchase requirement.

A haze figure cannot tell you whether a person’s outline will be acceptable from three metres away in a backlit room. Approve the actual sheet sample with the viewing setup described below. If the aim is to hide LED points rather than people or objects, compare the LED diffuser grade using the fixture depth and optical target.

Frosting controls surface appearance. For a lightbox that must hide individual LEDs, start with the LED diffuser sheet. If exact tint or brand colour drives the decision, see coloured polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is useful where handling and impact matter; for a decorative panel where those demands are light, compare frosted acrylic.

See the finish in your own light

Request a labelled sample in the intended colour and thickness. Hold it at the actual viewing distance with a person, printed target or object behind it. Check daytime and nighttime lighting, then view both faces and the cut edge. Share a photo of the setup with your approval note so a repeat order can target the same appearance. A haze number alone cannot tell you whether a silhouette will be acceptable in that room.

Questions buyers ask

Will a frosted PC sheet make a room dark?

It can soften the view while still admitting light, but the result depends on the finish, tint, thickness and lighting on each side. Tell us the required privacy and daylight effect; compare a sample at the viewing distance of your installation.

Do I need one frosted face or two?

One-face frost can suit a panel with a defined viewing side. Two-face frost is useful when both sides are seen or handled. Send a sketch showing the exposed face and we can quote the appropriate construction.

Can you cut or drill the panels?

Yes. Send the finished dimensions and drawing with hole positions, edge details and quantity. We can quote sheet and fabrication together; approval of the fixing design belongs in the project review.

Can I request test reports?

Yes. Common report originals are available through our sales team on request. Tell us the required grade, thickness and standard so we can identify the relevant report for your order.
