Textured Polycarbonate Sheet

Flat embossed PC sheet for privacy, surface appearance and lighting control; choose a pattern from a physical sample.

Flat polycarbonate sheet samples with smooth, fine pebbled and small-grid embossed finishes
Flat sheet finish samples from our Jiangsu production archive. Visible textures vary by sample; approve the actual pattern, colour and viewed face before production.

Textured polycarbonate sheet is solid PC with a pattern embossed into one or both faces, so it blurs what is behind it, softens glare and hides fingerprints while keeping the impact resistance of polycarbonate. We supply diamond, prismatic, stucco, linear and fine matte patterns in 1–12 mm, cut to size. Choose the pattern by how much the viewer should see, then send a texture photo or sample with your panel drawing so we can quote the right sheet and a matching sample.

Choose the texture by the job it has to do

Defined embossed pattern

Choose a visible diamond, stucco, linear or prismatic surface when the pattern itself matters. Check both faces under your real lighting and viewing distance.

Fine matte privacy

Choose a subtler, even finish when you want privacy without a prominent pattern. Compare with our frosted PC sheet and approve a physical sample.

LED light control

For illuminated covers, specify LED pitch, diffuser gap and target lit appearance. A texture photograph cannot establish hotspot control; use a fixture trial. See PC LED diffuser.

Textured (embossed) polycarbonate patterns compared

Pattern What you see through it Typical use
Diamond Bold faceted pattern; shapes blur at a short distance. Decorative screens, cabinet doors, shower screens
Prismatic Fine pyramid or linear prisms that spread light. Lighting covers, luminaires, light boxes
Stucco / pebbled Irregular orange-peel grain; strong blur that also hides scratches. Privacy partitions, machine covers, frequently touched panels
Linear / ribbed Parallel lines; privacy changes with the viewing angle. Feature walls, doors, signage
Fine matte Even satin finish with no visible pattern. Privacy without a decorative look

Textured vs frosted vs clear polycarbonate

Textured Frosted Clear
How the effect is made Pattern embossed into the surface Uniform matte surface or diffusing grade Smooth polished surface
Privacy Low to high, depending on the pattern Even, medium to high None
Hides scratches and fingerprints Best Good Poor

Specification reference: pattern and optical series

Item Starting reference Confirm for the order
Flat embossed sheet Diamond, prismatic, stucco or linear pattern can be reviewed; one- or two-face texture depends on tooling. Actual pattern sample or roll reference, visible-face orientation, gloss and acceptable variation.
Sheet format Current standard enquiry range: 1–12 mm thickness and common 1,220 / 1,560 / 1,820 / 2,100 mm widths. Custom PC dimensions can be reviewed. Available pattern at the requested gauge and width, cut size, tolerance, quantity and tooling terms.
Micro-texture optical example Our Clean-Light™ micro-texture series for profiled (corrugated) sheet lists 82–88% light transmittance (ISO 13468-1) and ≥95% haze (ASTM D1003). Flat embossed patterns are measured for each order. Colour, thickness, pattern, test method and optical results of the offered grade. The numbers do not apply to every embossed pattern.
Surface handling Embossing is formed into the sheet surface, unlike a printed pattern. Cleaning agent, abrasion exposure, protective film, fabrication sequence and sample acceptance.

The Clean-Light figures apply to that profiled series only, not to flat diamond, stucco or coloured textured sheet. Values quoted for another PC grade cannot replace a test for your pattern and thickness; ask sales for the report on the offered grade.

Approve appearance and fabrication together

  1. Show the visual target: send a reference photo or sample and say what may remain visible through the panel.
  2. Test the real scene: view the candidate from the intended distance, with the installed background and light source.
  3. Check the exposed face: specify which side can be touched or cleaned and test the actual cleaner on a sample.
  4. Mark the drawing: locate holes, bends, cut edges and texture direction. Confirm whether the chosen pattern remains acceptable after fabrication.
  5. Lock the repeat order: record the approved pattern reference, face orientation, colour, thickness, finish and sample in the written quotation.

If impact performance is safety-critical, request grade- and thickness-matched test evidence and assess the complete frame/guard assembly. A textured sheet is not automatically slip-rated flooring or a certified machine guard.

Send a quote-ready textured PC request

Include pattern reference or sample, colour, thickness, finished size, quantity, visible-face direction, application photo, lighting or privacy requirement, cleaner and fabrication drawing. We can supply custom PC specifications after grade and tooling review; actual price and lead time depend on complexity and the written offer.

Questions buyers ask

Will an embossed pattern wear off?

The pattern is formed in the sheet surface rather than printed onto it, but the surface can still scratch, abrade or change appearance after repeated cleaning. Test the offered finish with the expected contact and cleaner.

Can you make a custom pattern?

Custom tooling can be reviewed for a volume order. Send a reference or drawing, expected quantity and repeat-order plan; the quote will state tooling and sample approval requirements.

Do the optical figures apply to every texture?

No. The 82–88% transmittance and ≥95% haze figures belong to our Clean-Light micro-texture series for profiled sheet. For a flat embossed pattern, ask for the measured result for your colour, thickness and pattern, and approve the sample under the installed lighting.

Is textured polycarbonate the same as frosted polycarbonate?

No. Textured sheet has a visible embossed pattern; frosted sheet has an even matte look. Both give privacy, but textured hides scratches and fingerprints better, while frosted gives more uniform light.

Which face should point outdoors?

If the sheet is ordered with UV protection for outdoor use, the UV-protected face must face the sun. Mark the UV face and the textured face on your drawing; with a one-face texture they can be different sides.
