Flame Retardant Polycarbonate Sheet

Flame-retardant polycarbonate grades for specified uses; confirm classification, test method and smoke requirements for the offered sheet.

Flame-retardant polycarbonate sheet and fabricated parts for a defined fire requirement. Start with the standard and class your project actually calls for, then select the PC grade, thickness, colour and finished shape. We can quote sheet or drawing-based parts and provide the matching common test-report original through sales.

Send the required standard or specification clause, thickness, drawing, quantity and destination. We will identify a product route and report scope before you approve the order.

Product routes to start a specification

These are representative configurations shown in the supplied PC range. They are not universal UL 94 claims or stock promises. The selected formulation, specimen thickness and original report control the classification offered to your order.

Black thin sheet / film

0.76–2.5 mm thickness; listed up to 1,300 mm wide × 6,000 mm long. The source range includes UL 94 V-0 and V-2 grade routes. Suitable enquiries include die-cut insulating covers and cabinet parts.

Opal diffuser panel

2.0–8.0 mm thickness; listed up to 1,300 mm wide × 6,000 mm long. A V-2 product route is listed; confirm the required optical and fire evidence for the exact grade.

Transparent sheet

2.5–12.0 mm thickness; listed up to 2,100 mm wide × 6,000 mm long. V-0 or V-2 routes are listed by grade. Send the visibility, impact and report requirements together.

If your drawing needs another colour, thickness or size, send it for custom review. The written quotation identifies the specific offered grade, geometry, price and production window.

What the fire rating tells you—and what it does not

Match the method

UL 94 V-0/V-2 describes a defined small-specimen flammability test. It does not automatically satisfy an EN, ASTM, rail, building or battery-system requirement.

Match the specimen

Check the reported grade, thickness, colour/formulation, orientation and conditioning against the offered sheet or finished part.

Check other hazards separately

Smoke, toxicity, electrical insulation, heat and finished-assembly performance need their own applicable evidence when your specification requires them.

Tell sales the exact standard and acceptance class. Common report originals are available on request, but the report must correspond to the quoted product. A flame held against a sheet in a photograph is an illustration, not a standard test result.

Sheet supply or a finished insulating part?

For flat sheet, specify grade, thickness, colour, usable dimensions, surface and total quantity. For finished pieces, add a revision-controlled DXF/DWG/PDF, hole and slot positions, critical edge dimensions, forming direction and inspection points. If electrical clearance or creepage matters, include the equipment designer’s requirements.

Coating and bulk-additive routes can differ. We will identify the offered construction and report scope rather than assume every FR sheet uses the same formulation. Cutting, forming or coating after sheet production may also affect what evidence is needed for the final part.

Send an RFQ that can be checked

  1. Requirement: standard, classification, end-use market and any separate smoke, electrical or thermal criteria.
  2. Material: grade route, thickness, colour, surface, sheet size or drawing revision.
  3. Order: quantity, sample approval, destination and target delivery date.
  4. Documents: identify the original report needed for the proposed grade and thickness.

Our associated Jiangsu production site has seven extrusion lines and 22 CNC machines. These figures describe capability; custom grade, fabrication and report scope determine actual price and lead time. Published site-wide figures are average planning references, with the written quote controlling the order.

Send your FR PC requirement How to request report originals

Questions buyers ask

Is flame retardancy always a coating?

No single construction covers every FR PC product. The offered grade may use a bulk formulation or another defined route. Confirm the construction and the matching report for the selected sheet and any later fabrication.

Can I obtain the test-report original?

Yes. Tell sales the required standard and class, grade, colour and thickness. Common report originals are available privately; the quoted grade and report scope should match before you approve production.

Does an FR grade look the same as ordinary PC?

Appearance depends on formulation, colour, thickness and surface. Request a sample in the exact offered grade if visibility or colour matching matters.
